The reviews continue to roll in

In Your Face coverReally chuffed with the very first review we’ve seen of In Your Face, in which Robbie Coburn in Aurealis #91 says: The genre of speculative fiction can often discourage readers of what is deemed so-called ‘serious’ literature; this collection defies that idea entirely, presenting works that are as literary as they are speculative. In Your Face is a truly rewarding and affecting experience that challenges the essence of what it means to be human, now and in the future.

You can read the full review in Aurealis #91.

Mieneke at A Fantastical Librarian not only reviewed The Rebirth of Rapunzel, she also interviewed Kate! Check out the review and interview at the site.

Mel (booksandsundry) at Goodreads gave five stars to the Mocklore Omnibus and said it’s: “Full of laughs and pacing that keeps you up all night long…”

We’re loving the In Your Face pose (instigated by Cat Sparks) that we’re seeing when people get their copies of the book – tag us on social media with yours? 😀

Thanks as always to the wonderful folks who take the time to review our work, and interact with us online!

All the news that is news!

It’s been a very busy few weeks in the FableCroft household! In addition to two fabulous awards ceremonies on the weekend, we also launched Kate Forsyth’s beautiful non-fiction collection The Rebirth of Rapunzel: A Mythic Biography of the Maiden in the Tower. The launch was a great success, with over sixty guests in attendance enjoying champagne and chocolate while chatting with Kate. We had a gorgeous giveaway pack, and sold lots of books, and it was just lovely.

FREE BOOKS FOR WORLDCON!

I’m a bit under the weather, and I’m watching jealously as so many friends are making their way to Loncon3, this year’s Worldcon, so I’ve decided to express my pique with FREE BOOKS!

For the duration of Worldcon, the following FableCroft ebooks are ABSOLUTELY FREE to all readers! Go! Fetch them!

Worlds Next Door (anthology)

Focus 2012: highlights of Australian short fiction (reprint anthology)

Splashdance Silver (Mocklore Chronicles #1) by Tansy Rayner Roberts

The Aware (Isles of Glory #1) by Glenda Larke

“Flower and Weed” by Margo Lanagan

“Sanction” by Dirk Flinthart

Disclaimer: I’ve made the discounts on Smashwords only for the top four items (all formats available here!), but these will probably filter through to Amazon etc via price matching, if that’s your preference. “Flower and Weed” and “Sanction” are only available on Amazon, and the free pricing will kick in tomorrow for five days!

Speaking of book launches…

It seems I’ve managed to neglect to blog about our forthcoming book party in Hobart, Sunday March 9 from 4.30. Celebrating the launch and recent shortlistings of Tansy and Dirk’s novels, and the other FableCroft Aurealis Awards nominations, we will be at The Hobart Bookshop to wine, chat and launch with special guest Lian Tanner! Come along if you’re in Tassie that weekend…
